Understanding Your Bill

Consumer is billed according to the category and tariff schedule in-force.

(a) The energy meter shows how many units the consumes has used by deducting the previous reading.
(b) Meter rental : This is hire charges for meter installed by CSEB.
(c) Electricity Duty : The electricity duty is levied by the State Govt.
(d) Electricity Development cess : This is also levied by the State Govt./Central Govt.
(e) Monthly Minimum charges : This is the minimum amount payable per month, even if no electricity is consumed during the month.

Consumer’s electric bill consists of the following components as per the existing tariff schedule and may vary in future.

  1. Energy charges – slab wise.

  2. Fuel cost Adjustment charges (FCA)

  3. Electricity duty.

  4. Cess Charges.

  5. Meter hire charges.

  6. Delayed payment charges (Surcharge).

  7. Additional security Deposit (if required).

  8. Lower power factor surcharge in case of industrial and commercial consumers, and other consumers using induction motors/welding transformers.

Min. Charges : 540 unit per annum per H.P. of connected/agreement Load.

Commercial Light / Fan and Power

For all units consumed Rs. 7.80/- per unit

i ) Rs. 272/- per month per HP when used only for light and fan.

ii ) Rs. 544/- per HP per month for mixed load power and light & fan.
